11.2 Government spending
This Excel Workbook 'Government spending' contains two data sheets,
- Sheet Investment; and
- Sheet spend on roads 1999-2006.
Contents of the data sheets are as follows
Sheet Investment
Block A.5 to BH.27 gives central and local government expenditure on transport for 1970 to 2006-07 at out-turn (current) prices. Note: TSGB 2007 Table 1.15 modifies the data substantially for years from 2002-03 onwards.
Block A.33 to BH.55 gives central and local government expenditure on transport for 1970 to 2006-07 at constant 2005 prices.
Block A.65 to H.88 gives central and local government capital and current expenditure on roads for 1964 to 2006-07 at current prices, and block L.65 to S.88 at constant 2005-06 prices.
Block A.99 to S.127 gives national investment in transport for 1985 to 2005, at current (out-turn) prices, from Transport Statistics GB 1992 Table 1.15; 2005 and 2007 Table 1.14.
Block A.134 to AE.172 gives deflation factors for the Retail Prices Index and GDP, from 1970 to 2006-07, from Transport Statistics GB 1970-80 Table 1.30; 1975-85 Table 1.26; 1996 Table 1.21b; 2006 and 2007 Table 1.20.
Sheet spend on roads 1999-2006
This sheet reproduces part of Tables 1.15 from TSGB 2004 and 2007, giving central and local government spending on transport in Great Britain, at out-turn prices, since fiscal year 1999/00. It also shows investment in transport since 1995/96 from TSGB 2007 Table 1.14.
