This section contains five Excel Workbooks containing data for local authority areas. The specific Workbooks are:

These contain details of the population and surface area by combinations of nations, government office regions of England, unitary authorities in England, Scotland and Wales, counties in England and districts in Northern Ireland.  Surface area information is provided in all sheets except 1982-1990 E&W.  Separate male and female population numbers are provided in sheets 1999 UK, 2001 UK and 2002 UK.  All except sheet 1982-1990 E&W are from Regional Trends.
