The Excel Workbook 'Population and general' contains six data sheets. These are:

- Sheet Local authorities; and
- Sheet Area, etc.
These data are taken from official sources, identified on the data sheets.
The six files of population projections for the nations of UK are from the Office for National Statistics, and are based on the 2006 populations.
The file 'Population UK LAs 5-year age groups 1991-2007' is from Office for National Statistics, General Register Office for Scotland, Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency.
