The Excel Workbook 'Traffic' contains five data sheets. These are:

  • Sheet Traffic by vehicle type;
  • Sheet vehicle type by road class;

  • Sheet speeds; and
  • Sheet forecasts.

Contents of the data sheets are as follows

Sheet Traffic by vehicle type

Block A.5 to P.67 gives the vehicle kilometres of traffic on all roads by cars and taxis, by motorcycles and other powered 2-wheelers, by larger buses and coaches, by light vans, by heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), by all motor vehicles and by pedal cycles, for the period 1938 to 2008.

Block T.5 to AS.27 gives similar data for 1970 to 2008, and gives more details of traffic by different types of HGV.

These data are from Transport Statistics GB 2006 to 2008 Table 7.1 and 7.2; 1995 Table 4.7; 1995 Table 4.7; 1975-85 Table 2.1; 1970-80 Table 2.1 and Road Statistics 2006 Table 1.1.
